1EtangdesTruites

Hiking from the Cottage: from 1:30 to 5H, the guide "Walks & hikes around the village of Montsegur" will show you several routes, from easy to somewhat difficult. The Weavers Road (towards Lavelanet), Path of the Cathars (GR 107), or climbing the peak of St. Bartholomew (2348 m) are all possible walks from Montsegur. In addition, Gilles HEURTEVIN (Accompanist mountain, 06 82 81 32 80) organizes hikes every thursday in July and August : easy level (children 6 years), real duration of walk about 3:30, with many stops to explain the environment Mountain (fauna, flora, pastoral life, talc and iron mine ...). Provide hiking shoes (or at minimum tennis type), a small backpack, a sweater and a windbreaker, 1.5 liter of water and picnic.

2monts_olmes

The ski resort Les Monts d'Olmes (18 km) welcomes you for the winter Nordic skiing (21 trails and 12 lifts), but also in summer for the "course adventure" : 1000 m in the trees, zip line of 230 m, downhill mountain biking, hiking, archery, chair lift ...

3LacMontbel

25 km from Montsegur, you can enjoy sailing, swimming, or simply relax in the shade of the banks of Lake Montbel.

4VoieVerteThe roads of the Ariege naturally lend themselves to the practice of cycling and forest roads of mountain biking. The old railway track has been built for biking, walking or riding : it is the Green Way of the Cathar Land, more than 25 km long. Departure from the old station of Lavelanet. Fun descending fun of the river Ariege in canoeing at Bompas (33 km). Inquire 05 61 05 14 06 or 06 81 40 03 95 for the conditions (weather, water level ...)

9PlateauBeille

In the Plateau de Beille (53 km), 1800 m altitude, you will enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing or learn to guide the sled dogs.

10TrainRouge

From Axat (53 km) to Espira de l'Agly, you will discover with the Red Train (tourist train of Cathar country and Fenouillèdes)  different landscapes (canyons of the river Aude, forests, desert hills and vineyards, but also viaducts and bridges). 11RouteVins

The wine route takes you trough the Fenouillèdes (85 km), from Caudiès de Fenouillède to Espira de l'Agly, via Saint Paul, Maury, Cases de Pene and Estagel. You will discover the wines of AOC Corbières  and Coteaux du Roussillon. Consume with moderation.

12Thermalisme

Spas and natural hot waters are very present in our region : you can relax in the bathes of Ussat (39 km) or Ax Les Thermes (57 km), but also in Rennes les Bains (53 km).
